Breezeway Entry Refinished
Red Deer, AB · 2025
The breezeway stripped back to a new subfloor and refinished in vinyl, with the existing step recovered to match.
The breezeway is the part of a house that takes the most abuse and gets renovated the least. This one had reached the end of its flooring.
We stripped it out, put in a new subfloor, and finished it in vinyl rather than the laminate used through the rest of the house. That was a deliberate choice: this is the room where boots, snow and gravel land first, and vinyl handles that better than laminate does.
The existing step was recovered to match, the room was freshly painted, and new trim installed to complete the look. Modern coat hangers installed and a cozy fireplace to warm the space in the deep winter months.
